I am realy sorry guys, but I think your figures have been corrected to flywheel HP. I have been tuning Evo's since E2's. The injectors and fuel pump will not deliver enough fuel for the figures that you believe that you have. They will just make approx 380hp flywheel (depending on dyno, correction factor etc). If you look at the raw data in red, the correction is too much for just baro and air temp correction.
First post, welcome newbie!

Do you have experience with the US Spec Evo 8's? Do you know the size of the USE8 injectors, fuel-rail and the lph rating on the stock fuel pump? I've been curious about that.

I have only seen one in Russia, but they are a down spec version compared to JDM or Euro spec. Ours have more HP, computer controlled centre diff (ACD), ECU, etc etc. Mitsubishi arent big into big changes so I would see no reason that the fuel system would be any different.

wrap...

I will try to address everything straight forward...

On the exhaust, I will get some pics asap. It is the protoype borla developed. I loaned the car for almost a month. Maybe ask David Borla to post some pics. Anyway, It is 3" and very straight with the xr1 exhaust. Usual Borla quality. They worked on it 2 twice before getting it right for my car. I think they got it really right. It seriously growls without being too obnoxious.

Regarding the fuel injectors and pump issues... I have a clear roadmap in mind and fuel system upgrades will be addressed as mentioned. I got an a/f ratio of 10.4/1 at 6700 rpm on the dyno . Clearly the stock injectors haven't choked yet... I will upgrade because of reliability and I like having a wide comfort margin...

Regarding the dyno numbers... I watched them done without any monkeying. Different dynos are different dynos... If you want to compare cars, dyno them on the same dyno. The real point from my perspective is:

236 to 383 whp with the GT40 turbo kit, intake, intercooler, exhaust, and mbc and stock injectors, pump etc.

Everyone, that is around 150 whp more than stock with probably quite a bit of room left for when I get to tune it with the aem.

This car is so buildable...

I can't wait to get the aem in...

Regarding pics and the like... lookup the socal evo.net and the recent sept meet has some pics with a red evo that are my car. FYI, it was awesome. I think there is a cu of the intercooler up also under that post.

Mark

Is that the kit listed as the 450hp or 550hp? Also, is this kit a turbo performance kit or is it a AVO kit? Thanks! Very impressive whp

and yes it is "streetable"....

Just a note,

I have just shy of 7k now... 2000 on the gt40 and 23psi... I take my kid to school every day in this car and go to work and rip a 3.9 0-60 on the offramp to work. Hell yes, it is streetable!

I am sorry but I have to puke...

this one goes out to al friedman...

Nothing against your car but i just read the article in modified... have you no shame! [/SIZE] Lets see, you have an awesome car and you deserve the press but "world's fastest evo" is just greedy.
What about http://www.norrisdesigns.com/ and maybe a hundred less shameless tuners than pruven that quietly build awesome machinery...

Lets see.... bolt on turbo 5k overpriced, exhaust, intercooler injectors blah blah blah... I don't see anything creative and a mid 11 for the "worlds fastest evo" doesnt' do the car any justice at all.

I am happy for you having the article but you are shameless claiming you have the "world's fastest evo 8"

will build just to teach you some manners... Money and actual engineering expertise will clean your clock- I will drive back from california with my daughter to the east coast... just to teach you some manners!

Shame on Modified Magazine , Shame on Pruven (who actually puts out some decent stuff and should know better) and most of all shame on you Al, for selling out and allowing your awesome car to be exploited...

Mark

I don't know what your so jealous about - - if your crappy turbo set up was so great - then surely you would have been out to the track already and beaten my times - BUT alas - it seems you are just a talker !!! All talk no action

Young puppy - you have a LOT of work to do on your car to even get fast enough to be able to see my tailights if you want to hang with me

The people who really know about cars and how turbo awd engines function - ALL know just how stupid you are for running that kind of power on the stock injectors and fuel pump - get real man

Actually it's a black eye for the whole of the Evo community. When many thousands of readers read something in print of such a slow mid 11 second pass from such arrogant claims, it gives the readers the impression that all owners are of the Fast and the Furious type living thier life a 1/4 mile at a time thinking their 11s car is the fastest in the wolrd.

Jeeesh What a way to make all those readers out their look down on such an incredible car.

Some Humility, especially in the public magazines, might do the entire community some good, instead fo just annoying everyone with stroking your ego.

Fyi, I am not a kid but I bet there are plenty who could hand you lesson or too...

Al, No one has a monopoly on ideas... Show a little respect for all the dsm tuners out there who make 11 seconds look slow.

This ground has already been covered before by people like norris designs...

Share your knowledge and leave your ego in the wherehouse you need to keep it.

Actually, no, the Evo's ECU is not highly adaptable. It is pretty stupid, actually. But stupid ECUs make it easy to make big power numbers.

for Al and Mark:
I prolly shouldn't say anything, but i'm gunna anyways.
Don't go down to the 2F2F lvl and b$tch about 1/4 mile times, Hp #'s, Torque #'s, and what is and isn't good for the evo.

God i hated that movie. (i wish it never came out... poor evo)

Yeah, Al's evo 8 is probably the fastest evo 8 in the world, but someone else has to drive it.
