Im wanting to swap my 6 speed from my mr to a 5 speed, does the 5 speed from an 8 mount up to a 9?

 

tru i want to know also,, can u use the same transfer case for the 6speed on a 5speed?

Yes its a direct swap.

 

Yes direct swap with the conversion kit its what i got in my car evo 8 trans built

 

its just as easy as any other tranny job, it actually took me and my mechanic about 6 hours. Just call shep and order the conversion kit.

yeah...hit up shep trans. They have the installation kit, about $400. I was contemplating the same thing..but decided to stick it out w/ the 6 speed.

 

Yeah, it sucks, I am only 17 and the total for everything im wanting to do is going to cost around 3k, I need to get a five speed, have it built and the ring and pinion gear in the t-case is bad so I have to get that too. Shep said he would work out a deal to take some money off if I brought him the trans and t-case together to be built. So I guess im going to have to take out a loan for this one!
