hey guys my friend has a wastegate on his evo and its super loud idk what he has some people say its a dump tube and some say its just an external wastegate its really loud and i want to do that when i get mine im just wondering how hard it would be and price wise thanks guys
Installation shouldn't be to hard if you mean turn down pipe... but if you mean o2 dump it will take a while and i think EPM has them for 258 ish?

First off, this is a very ricerish question. However, by dump tube to you mean an exhaust turndown? ie like AMSs? If that is what you are asking, AMSs is 70$, you will no longer have an exhaust sticking out the rear (pipe will dump under the seats), and you might as well have F*** THE POLICE spray painted on your car because you will be their new best friend.
If you just mean an externally dumped and not recirculated wastegate tube then the EPM is the way to go. But be careful, you actually might make power with that! The install of an o2 housing is not all fun and games either. Itll take a good 6+ hours with two people who semi know what they are doing. Search on o2 housing installs, I used one on here but dunno what the thread is.

Your friend probably has a turbo manifold with external wastegate and its an atmosphere dump and not connected back to the exhaust.
Btown and prostar are referring to an O2 housing for the stock turbo where the wastegate has a vent to atmosphere, and its most likely not what your friend has. Get him to take a pic and post it, someone can tell you exactly what it is.

Lol 2 hours tops for me even with a broken manifold stud. Threads like this make me wish I never bought an Evo...I guess it happens though when the price of a car drops, it makes it more accessible for the village idiots.
i did my O2 housing in 1 hour including pull the manifold off
Yeah it wouldn't have taken me 2 hours either if it wasn't for that stupid stud. Sometimes I really think those vents in the hood are more of a pain than anything...they just dump water right down in my those studs. I'm honestly surprised more of them didn't break, Mitsu used some cheap hardware there.

also this thread is so ricer my eyes are bleeding reading it, an external wastegate will open whenever boost overpowers the set spring you have installed in it, for instance if ur running 20psi with a boost controller but u have only a 10 pound spring in the wastegate then you will hear the wastegate open once u hit 10psi same thing with a wastegate actuator on an internally gated turbo such as the stock evo turbo, the stock wastegate actuator opens at 10psi, so if you were to get an epm O2 housing then you will here it from 10psi up
