Question fpred turbo oil return pipe gasket

I am fitting a red using the oem oil return pipe. Two gaskets came for either end of the pipe, one sort of white and the other black. Does anyone known which one goes to the turbo and which to the oil pan? Thanks.

as i've noted in post #9 of this thread; the manual states to install the gasket with the silicon print or convex side towards the oil pan. the white gasket is the only one with a circular silicon print side. therefore white -> oil pan and black -> turbo. others in this thread seem to think it's the other way around.

could so many people be wrong?? i just took a good look at the manual from several years of cars 6,7,8 and they all say the same thing. install the gasket with the silicon printed/convex side toward the oil pan. there is only one gasket that has a convex or silicont printed sice and it's the white one. therefore white for oil pan and black for turbo.

The white one is for the turbo, believe us!!!!

I got my red installed almost 3 weeks ago and when I bought the oil return gaskets from the dealership, we confirmed that the white one was for the end that connects to the turbo and the black one for the side that connects to the oil pan. We confirmed this information by part number and on their computer you can see that the part number correspond to the side that connects to the turbo so I don't know what else to tell ya. I guess I can let ya know in the future if I get an oil leak from there .

Sorry to revive a very old/dead thread, but thought id add some confirmation in case anyone has this same problem and feels conflicted on which seal to use since there are some conflicting views here. Black goes to oil pan, white goes to turbo. I have tried both. I tried installing the white gasket to the oil pan 3 times with brand new gaskets every time, and I tried both orientations, which led to horrible leaks every time. I then tried the black gasket on the oil pan, and no leaks whatsoever on the very first time installing. Use the black gasket on the oil pan.

Yup, I had brand-new ones. Also I don't think the white one on the oil pan is wrong cuz parts blowup on NengunPerformance shows it goes there, but the black one seems to work a HECK of a lot better.

The yellow paper or black metal gasket both work fine. I would check the flange on the drain pipe and the pan for flatness.
