I mean you are very worried about attention, don't ever go to WOT, yet you drive an EVO that screams "LOOK AT ME!" and you are modifying the exhaust. It is just odd, I am not being rude, I just think there are probably better options in the car market for someone such as yourself.

Thanks for the picture slorice. I can't quiet figure out why I like how you car looks

Not a problem, no offence taken.

I chose the evo for many reasons including the following:

-Love how the car looks.
-Handling and steering response
-All wheel drive
-Strong motor 4G63 T
-Max limit of what I can afford (attend/paying for school and working)
etc...

My friend has an M3 and another one had the 335I. Both are very nice cars and I would get the 335I as another car if I was financially able to comfortably afford. But even if I won a big lotto the Evo will be my most favorite, followed by the Koenigsegg CCXR. Call me crazy but the Evo is my super car.

Oh and for the record, the Evo has actually not gotten that much attention. Only kids sometimes might give me a thumbs up. And if I ever want to go WOT I dont want to give any heads up to the authorities What I do like in car noises is the sound of the air rushing in to the turbo.

I dont know I guess its a preferrence thing with exhaust noises. I just contribute to these types of threads because I spent a lot of money and time looking for an exhaust as quiet as my preferrence. And I'm trying to help the thread starters in getting acurate information. In my research many people kept claiming how quiet their exhaust is, but in actuallity their opinion of quiet is not quiet at all.

P.S.

I wasnt arguing just discussing opinions, research knowledge and personal experiences with my previous posts. Just wanted to clear that up. I'm hear to learn and share knowledge with fellow enthusiests, in case I sounded a little hars.

I would go with the BR! I dont know why lol

But seriously, I have the TBE with the V-band, by far the best exhaust. It weights absolutly nothing and sounds awesome! Might be a little loud for what you are looking for, but what you need is their Magnaflow version. Mine is the Bullet in the center. Due to the small bullet muffler and 10' of 3" tubing behind it, its loud. Much similer to the old muscle cars with glasspacks in the middle.

But if you are looking for the BEST exhaust and BEST customer service, Buschur is the place to go! Dave will NOT let you down and will back their product 100%!

Oh, and another thing, with the economy the way it is right now, Dave does everything he physically can to keep as many people at work as possible, even if a little bit has to come out of his own pocket. And I truly admire a company that will go out of their way to keep their family and friends at work when it costs them a little.

SO what you should get in my opinion:

Buschur V-Band
Magnaflow Muffler

You will not regret it!

I don't know either....I'm guessing its probably the white door handles and mirrors.

Dave what exhaust do you use on your RS and the 3 amigos? V-band?

I used to run the standard BR 3" slip fit exhaust with the Magnaflow muffler. When I had the stock turbo, this setup was QUIET...almost to quiet. Then I went to the built motor/35R setup and it got a little louder, but still tolerable. Then I went with the JDM rear bumper and went to the Bullet muffler in the cat location...all still slip fit. This setup is loud. But that's OK for me...its my weekend cruiser and I don't mind being noticed.

I'm not sure how the Magnaflow muffler + JDM rear bumper would look. Probably not the best, but not sure.

Or, you could always go with what MEMO had which was the Bullet in the middle and the Magnaflow in the rear. I swear when they started the car, it didnt even sound like it was on, but at WOT it still sounded damn good. Maybe that would be the best if you want it really quiet!

I also know that the bushur is one of the lightest systems on the market. I have searched around but I cannot find anything that really compares these 2 directly.

So, for the Cobb,
1. Can anyone comment on the weld issue?
2. How loud is it, how does it work for DD?

And, the BR,
1. How loud is this system w/ or w/o HFC using the Magnaflow muffler, how is it for DD?
2. How is the quality of this system.

And in comparison?
1. How do they compare in loudness to each other? Any dB information?
2. How do their tip sizes compare?
3. How do the two compare as far as gains? Which makes more power?
4. How do they compare as far as fit/finish?
I have the Cobb TBE installed (w/test pipe) and I can't be any more pleased with the performance and the quality of the product! I haven't heard any issues about faulty welds and as far as i can tell the welds all around look exceptional (well crafted). Now I have heard of issue with people miss matching the whole exhaust and that wont work (go figure). I inspect my exhaust at least once a week, its easy its garaged. I live in SoCal and you better not bring too much attention to yourself because you will get cited (for a loud sounding exhaust) or car jacked!!! As far as loud, not even, cruising the freeways no drone, now when you get on it!!! I'll use my Sons analogue "Man dad, why does the car sound so ANGRY!!!!"

So if you want a nice quality perfectly fitting, sounding exhaust that wont sell you out (to the CHP) I would recommend the Cobb TBE.

No fitment issues whatsoever!!!

I dont have any of MEMOs car. You could get ahold of Dave or MEMO and see if they will give the the screenname for the kid who bought it. I cant remember his name off the top of my head but Im sure they would. He would most likely be willing to post a short clip.

The welds around the flanges etc.. are fine. Just inspect the weld on the resonator. From what I concluded is that the manufacturer of the resonator sands the welded area smooth and then mirror polishes. The weld then becomes too thin to hold under stress and on some models it splits.

Here is a picture of how mine split. Notice that it is not the weld that cobb did to the exhaust pipe, but the weld from the manufacturer of the resonator.

Wow, read my mind lol, I was thinking this too, anyone have a clip of a BR TBE with a Bullet up front and the Magnaflow in the back?

Does Dave offer this? Or would I have to get the system and a custom section made for it separate with a bullet muffler?

Yes, Im pretty sure Dave can make them with: single bullet, single magnaflow, or Bullet/bullet, or bullet/magnaflow. I know Dan Buschurs car had 2 bullets on it when it went 9.6.

Agreed, who drives an evo and goes into boost only 0-3 times per tank? ****, I'm boosting as my wife is drinking her morning coffee (and yeah, it spills and pisses her off, but I'm a true Evo owner). . .

If you drive your Evo like you should, you should barely get 180 miles to a tank. . .at least that's my philosophy!

Cool, I'll look in to that , I usually give it quick check and to this point I haven't seen anything that maybe occurring in my situation, but thanks in any regard!
