Sparktech non-cdi V.S. HKS DLI

I want to know the difference in these 2 ignitions. I am looking to upgrade and I have kinda made up my mind but I wanted to get information from others and thier opinions on these two ignitions. Honest opinions too and not just "I have it, it's better" and crap like that.

Thanks,

TK

very simple

hks dli
looks ok but not cool.
burns out the cdi box ''common problem with the hks units''
does not do much over stock

spark tech
looks hot
works 100%
delivers more power then the dli
lasts much much longer ''actually there has been no failures yet''

That's not true. Most people running the DLI don't need it as the stock ignition is sufficient up to a certain point just like everything else. Once you have maxed out the stock system the HKS DLI will do it's job and will do a lot more than stock.

They do go out fairly often though. I would say that 50% of the failures though are caused by poor placement of the box. It really needs to be in a dry spot away from heat.

First let me say I have the Sparktech with the CDI, which is bullet proof. I pushed 40 pounds no blowout yet gapped at 26

I have tuned 2 cars with the Non Cdi from sparktech on E85 Seems so good so far. Around 30 psi. 1 of the customers we removed the HKS which was having blowout, I dont know why. I've seen the HKS unit work time and time again, only seen 1 fail, maybe 2 but that was because he threw it on the ground after he said it caught on fire in his engine bay. I like the sparktechs units myself as they have a coil for each plug.

IMO with results behind it.

Sparktech FTW

IF you were to have a coil failure our coils are warrantied for 1yr....We ship you a NEW one.....Try that with HKS...you'll be sitting waiting and then end up stuck with a repair bill that's almost the cost of a new DLI

That's good to know. I just really need to see some stats on the HKS and Sparktech with at least or similar to the mods I have. Must have a FPGreen

If you look back on my Wilson V2 thread, we proved that the SparkTech unit made more power than the HKS DLI. Go with the SparkTech, awesome unit!

Glad to hear the non-cdi is performing well on E-85 also. As most of you know E85 requires more spark than gasoline.

Well there comes a time in life when you just don't have the $ for that much. I don't need that much anyway because either the HKS or the Sparktech will support the HP I am going with
