Actually they did not say anything about the product being on backorder.
They e-mailed me saying

Apexi Power Intake Kit included: Air Filter, Gaskets, Bolts and Adapter.

Is that everything I need? Someone said something about having to order a full kit up there? I'm running and K&N and MAF at the moment...

I don't really care about the intake if it doesn't cause interference with the maf. It's mostly just a pipe to me. I just want something I can fit and build a bit of a shield around that fits the AMSoil filter.

It looks like the only ones that fit the dimensions we need for the adapter (4.5") are
EaAU4510: 10" (too tall) and oval tapered
EaAU4560:
Base OD: 5.875"
Media height: 6"
Top OD: 5"

Since this is tapered it could help, but I'm not sure if thats the right part number. The Vibrant filter is 5" tall as opposed to 6", and I'm not sure if that measurement includes the base of the filter or just the media.

The Amsoil 6" filter will be a very tight fit and may not fit at all since the filter element alone is 6" tall. The flange will add at least another inch. I have a 5" total height K&N filter and an ETS intake, and the filter just clears the ACD reservoir.

How much was it? If it was $119 you got everything you need to install it on your car, minus the induction box.

I ordered mine about 2 weeks ago and was told it was on back order and will not be hear til Feb.

Alright, well you will have everything you need. It comes with the filter, MAF adapter, and the bolts.

They might contact you on Monday. I know after I ordered mine, they called me back and asked if I wanted to change my order to another intake cause it was on back order.

I emailed them and that's what they said. Guess I'll let the car sit or get a cleaning kit in the mean time

Thanks for all that work and info.

Quick question: on my 9, there is a duct that goes all the way to the front of the grill, I'm guessing to ensure only cold air is fed to the air filter. With these cone filters situated where the are, is there ever a problem that the air being fed is warm / hot--especially when idling in traffic?

Thanks. Really appreciate your expertise in this field.
Zac.

i have a question for the people that performed this test...

there is a lot of talk about how the MAF adapter and the AMSoil filter may not clear the ACD reservoir...but the test vehicle is an 05. didnt those come with ACD? cause it looks like it has an ACD reservoir in the pics...

so to the test performers, did it clear or not?

Yes it did clear the ACD; it all depends on the intake pipe and how/where it positions the filter.
