Check out the PPI intake. I just found out it comes with the AMSOIL filter and works with the stock airbox too!

Here are some pictures running it with the stock intake tube on a IX with ACD. Also pictures of the pipe I'm going to use if I can extend it a bit....

With the stock tube it was not required, but it seemed happier when I pulled the bracket for the ACD reservoir a little bit toward the front of the car.

That's great that it comes with the AMSOIL filter. When used with the stock airbox where exactly is the filter? Is it inside the airbox? I can't tell from the pictures on the site (http://www.paradigmperformance.net/p.../intake.html)?

I'm pretty sure you can only use the metal pipe with the stock airbox and not the filter. There is no wait it'd fit

So you'd just be replacing the pipe and using the stock panel filter then? Maybe the Monster or HKS induction box can be used to have the filter covered. I'm not sure if those will fit with ACD vehicles.

I'd like to pick up the intake tube but don't understand why the Perrin tube is $197.99 and the Samco is $114.99 on MAP...what gives with the big price difference?...they look identical!

Perrin had to put their name on the FMIC of that STI in Fast & Furious somehow

The perrin one comes with a nice heat shield/maf adapter in addition to the basic intake pipe.

I just installed the Samco intake hose...for the price difference, I don't see a reason to go with the Perrin. If you want the Perrin filter, buy that on its own.

I'll be replacing my filter with the Amsoil in the next week or so, (my Apex'i was the one used for the testing).

Anyone here thought of testing the ARC intake box? I run it and love it, but I haven't seen it in any of the intake comparisons.

ARC box? Whats that? Nobody has mentioned that at all in this thread yet!

Seriously, people need to stop asking about the ARC intake. We did not test one, have no interest in testing one, and will never test one. ARC stuff is over-priced and under-performs. If you hate my opinon...start your own thread and do your own testing
