After this test I made the switch to Perrin intake and ordering my AMSOIL filter ASAP. I don't have anything bad to say about K&N, just the proof is in the puddin'.

 

perrin filter made little more power than no filter, how is that possible?

 

My Perrin arrives from MAP today.

Then I can put my ETS intake with K&N up for sale.

Found the problem

Looks like my MAF gave up its life for the airfilter shootout. And my perrin filter is due to arrive on monday. Now I remember why I dislike this style of filter!





This same thing happened on my 2G DSM, but that car had MAF-T on it in blow-through. I had a bastard20g/sleeper16g on the car at the time (thank god!) so the metal cap got stuck in the turbo inlet, about 5mm from the compressor wheel.

Anyone got a good condition maf for sale?

Thanks a lot, it's actually not funny. I've had boat-loads of bad luck lately and this is just a real flick in the nuts on top of other stuff.

 

I had a girl do that flick of the nuts once. We no longer dated after that.

I would say the Amsoil is the best filtering followed by the Apexi.
