AMSOIL Ea Air Filter media removes 5 times more dust than traditional cellulose filters and 50 times more dust than wet gauze

This use to be on the Donaldson site except it said Nano-Fiber instead of AMSOIL..

We buy the Patented Media from Donaldson and we are the only company that can buy it.

Oil Doc - you are still just quoting a product brochure. I was interested in the actual raw data.

I'm pretty sure CBRD even said that this filter needs to be oiled in order to filter correctly.

I'm guessing it's filtered for a reason.

Ok, its been ****-***ing cold here so have not had a chance to think about the car until today. The other morning it was -21F, prolly about -15F when I went out to install the new MAF & filter setup. Just started the car and verified that the maf at least registered in evoscan and it did!

Drove the wife to work today and on the way to my office did a few rips and logged it. It's so cold here I half thought about just skipping it, but I had to be sure the new maf read correctly. AFR's are 10.8-11.2, just as I'd expect with the old setup on pump gas. Driveability with the new filter is awesome, and power seems right in line with what I'd expect.

Wind chill is -29F but I had to snap a pic in daylight with my phone. The JMF spark plug cover and exh mani heat shield were xmas presents, just got those on a few days ago as well.

K&N filter oil is not ment to be used on a foam filter.

Foam Filters need to use there own type of oil.

Do you guys think I can fit an amsoil air filter in, and do I need a MAS thing or do I already have one? I really don't know much about air filters etc., so I don't know anything of what I need. Would anyone be able to tell the mounting flange diameter? Is it 4.5 inches?

If not, how come a'pexi is so much more expensive?

PS sorry for the dirty engine bay =]

Thanks!

You have the same K&N 1005 filter that I have. The flange ID is 4.5". That is likely a TurboXS intake kit with their MAF adapter. Apexi is expensive cause it is Japanese.

Thanks, does that mean I don't have to buy one of these?
http://www.maperformance.com/vibrant...tion-1995.html

And that the intakes from the test will just bolt right up?
Do you think the amsoil will fit in there?

Otherwise, I'll probably go with apexi, heard good things about the filtering, and it's got a good curve.
Is the apexi oiled? I like that the amsoil isn't.

Sorry for million questions!
