AMSOIL does Not currently offer a Panel Filter for the EVO.

We do have the Injen System available that comes with the EAAU Filter.

Correct Doc. The Amsoil Panel filter I refered to was for a 02 Ranger Edge with the 4.0SOHC motor. It came with a very heavy oil that came in a small bottle.

The S&B is also available in a 5" length just like the K&N so it should fit fine. The Apexi filter is a dry disposable paper cone filter. When it eventually clogs up, you throw it away.
You throw away the entire filter? or just the paper?

And does it come with it's specific adapter when you purchase it?

Thanks

Dammit. I just received the S&B filter. Very high quality. Unfortunately they only measure the filter element height - not overall height. I thought I was getting a 5" filter. This filter is actually over 7" tall. Too big!!!

You toss the whole filter and yes it does come with an adapter. I ported mine out pretty far to make the transition better because it was pretty rough out of the box.

Had the car retuned yesterday and made 16hp over the factory box with the K&N drop in filter so I'd say it works pretty good!

I compared the stock air box with K&N air filter drop-in with the Vibrant cone filter today. Check out my thread.

I just installed my Perrin intake tonight, great piece. What A/F's should I be looking for? I haven't been tuned because I was waiting for the intake to do some datalogs and have TBE, test pipe, AEM UEGO.

I'm very happy with mine. I put down some great #'s on the dyno yesterday and from the looks of it it will filter much better than the Vibrant air filter I replaced. I'll be checking my MAF every few months to see if it gets the dirt/dust build-up like it did with the Vibrant filter.

Actually I was looking it up and I read that you can contact apexi and order just the filter, and it's like 69 bucks

can you comment on how much quieter it is? I already decided this was the one for me and I ordered it from MAPerformance! Thanks for their test! I love the apexi curve!

I guess they told you it was on backorder as well?

Can't really say it's "quieter" because I went from the factory box to the Apexi, turbo spool is much louder and you can hear the factory BOV fairly well. I even installed the aluminum box kit with the filter and it still makes way more noise than the factory setup. Love how it sounds though!

Oh yeah, the Apexi filter bolts onto the adaptor, it doesn't clamp on like the other filters. You may want to look into that before you order the filter then have to get the whole kit anyway.

Did anyone else have a problem getting the Perrin intake to fit in the space provided? It was really tight and is rubbing on the Diff Fluid rezzy. I'm probably just going to get a 5" AMSOIL filter to replace the Perrin. Car runs like a champ!!

I think they are high quality units using Aluminum tubing and with the addition of the AMSOIL Filters, are one of if not the best setup going.

I keep seeing all of this talk about the injen intake / filter, but I only see one for the base lancers. ASP1898P appears to be the older full piping kit that uses a different filter (seen here)
Oil Doc's site only has the filter datasheet, not anything on the rest of the injen.

I've never seen anything I'd call "quality" from them in the past, but does anybody have the PN for the kit with the amsoil filter?

Oil Doc is quoting hp figures from Injen that were untuned and not reproduced at those levels in the real world. IMO the Injen intake is not a best intake out there. Injen website doesn't list their intake system anymore. I bet demand fell off and they discontinued it.
