I agree 100%, it's not suprising that no filter performed poorly, in fact I'm quite suprised it performed as well as it did considering the close proximity of the MAF sensor.

Thanks to the tester and MAP performance for donating the dyno time and performing the testing. Since the car was already tuned for an open filter, testing the stock airbox wouldnt have been a fair baseline anyhow.

I was going to upgrade to the Perrin this year, but I'm currently using the old style Buscher which proved the be the best. So I may stick with my old style Buscher filter for a little while until it gets too dirty or starts to rust. Would Perrin's intake tube be worth the purchase? I'm using the stock intake pipe right now. Any gains to be seen in an after market tube?

EDIT: Come to think of it, seeing as though the tune was for the Buscher filter the Perrin didn't do bad at all. Maybe it's be worth upgrading the Perrin afterall

In a way, this is good news............

We actually have ran the AMSOIL Main warehouse out of the EAAU-4560 Filter !!!

A new batch is expected in about 1 week...

Do Not let this stop you from ordering as it will add to the amount that will be manufactured...

OK... Didn't want to just delete the last message... Just got off the phone with Corporate.

144 EAAU-4560 filters will be in the Main Warehouse by tomorrow or Wednesday.... and will be distributed to my other warehouses..

That may be, but probably only because the restriction created a temporary (RPM wise) higher load shifting the curve slightly to the left. That may be a good thing, but the losses up top are probably not worth it.

In the dyno chart-waiting-boat. Thanks guys!

It does not; inside it is a big open bulb.

The complete Perrin intake kit has proven to work very well and you will definitely see gains with their intake pipe over stock.

I will have Scheides check his logs tonight once he gets home from work and report back with the findings.

The Perrin is great up top, but look at the area under the curve during the typical 4500 rpm tq peak.

Whats the deal there? Is it MAF scaling or do the others really create more load due to restriction?

This is most likely due to tuning issues and with a proper tune would be eliminated.
