I'm suprised there's not a lot of talk about the filter sizes in General. It appeared that the larger the filter the better, and the smaller filters were more restricted. What do you guys think?

More surface area of the filtering media does look to be beneficial. The Perrin filter is huge and the Amsoil is about the size of a K&N, but it also has the velocity stack cap which adds quite a bit more surface area.

Does the amsoil 4560 really come with the PPI intake?

With the stock tube it was not required, but it seemed happier when I pulled the bracket for the ACD reservoir a little bit toward the front of the car.

That does look like an amsoil but check the top chrome ring of your filter, does it say amsoil?

And you got this from PPI? Just like the one listed here? http://www.paradigmperformance.net/p...vo/filter.html

Oh ok. I see the awesomeness of the Amsoil one now. Thanks.

PPI supplies a Vibrant air filter, not Amsoil. My advice regarding the Vibrant: STAY AWAY! I've had a couple and they were crap. They rusted in under a year (< 15k miles) and didn't filter worth a crap.

Yup, you were right. Just got an email back today from Wayne @ PPI.

"wayne@paradigmperformance.net to me

Hello Kevin,
Thank you for inquiring. Our standard filter is a Vibrant piece. We
also sell K/N & AEM dryflow as well. Our preference is AEM dryflow but
they are pricier than the other 2 options. Let me know if you have any
other questions.

Thank You,
Wayne

I'm sure you can buy just the pipe and supply your own filter and MAF adapter. The Vibrant MAF adapters are about $19.

That is exactly what I'm planning on doing. Anybody got any input on what the best intake pipe is to get for a stock turbo?
