wow thats below dealer price very good pricing indeed.
however not a lot of dealers or shops will sale below their cost meaning they will have to put money from their own pocket to pay for this item, thats not even including shipping and hes already at a lost,

sounds to good to be true 38$

Not sure what to tell you; I don't spew BS all over the forums. This is the local Amsoil dealer in my friend's town. He is not getting out of business and it was definitely only $38. Maybe he's been selling for longer/more volume than others? As this friend is going to be the best-man in my wedding, I trust what he tells me

The local Amsoil retailer (dude works out of his garage behind his house) quoted me $38.50 for the filter with a MSRP of $51.00. I'm guessing that the $38.50 is his cost...

Not trying to hate bro but thats less than his cost and it doesn't make much sense unless he is using it to bring in more business but even if thats cool and congrats and drink a few for me at the reception

Scheides thanks for the info. I ran the 12.86 with a stock paper filter and box with a 9sec9's tune. We tried the drop in K&N and lost baro on four passes last week. Since 9sec9 is coming to town we thought it would be good to try the Perrin filter and retune. If the weather holds we plan to run four days next week and should have a good idea what we pick up since we know it will run consistant .86-7's. Thanks for the testing you two. Indy

A new filter air filter by BLOX recently came out that looks very nice. It attaches directly to the MAF like the old Buschur design did, but should be much higher quality. I'd love to get my hands on one for some follow-up testing vs. the Perrin and Amsoil!

Good info about the AEM vs. Perrin. How old/dirty was the AEM? Do you remember exactly how much hp/tq you picked up after switching?

It was only a couple hp and like one or two ft lbs. However the car wasnt tuned after just installing cams. I have tested foam style(UNI) filters on the dyno with motorcycles against K&N filters and always had gains. So I expected more air flow from it and when I put it on and it picked up anything I didnt bother questioning or looking into it anymore really.
