I put on the stock rubber tube and idle has improved. I have lost some HP though. The car will idle fine and my LTFTs have adjusted quite nicely. There is still a couple issues though. The MAF Hz value isn't consistant and smooth. It bounces all over the place at idle. Also, my O2 jumps around a bit too.

I think what we need to do is install our hard pipes and scale the MAF in such a manner that it will read about 30Hz at idle. This will get the MAF to as close to stock reading as possible.

Any suggestions on how to accomplish this????

Or just get the Perrin which is the new hot ticket as of late. That's what I'm going to do since every now and then my idle takes a dip.

You can search on here for "how to scale your maf". It can get a little confusing though. I followed it after logging quite a bit of idle and cruising logs with mitsulogger. After adjustments, the idle was worse so I reverted back to the map before. I would almost suggest going back to the stock MAF scaling instead of trying to adjust things.

I am definitely in the market for a different intake setup. I just hope I don't run into the same problems after dumping more money into another intake.

ok im gonna throw this out there been readin this 4 page thread and nobody said to check and see if u have any torn vacuum lines, and see if the vacuum line off the egr valve on the back of the intake mani popped off, my car for the longest time would have the $hittiest idle, and one day realized that the line had popped off....gl op

I should have updated this thread..it WAS the intake pipe itself that was causing the idle issue. ETS hooked me up with a different type of intake pipe that utilizes a slight bend with a slightly bent coupler to put the MAF out of direct line with the turbo inlet. Instantly the idle was like stock, and no bogging or trying to stall at red lights. I searched high and low all vacuum lines and EGR hose, but the different pipe did the trick!

I have an Apexi intake and get slight "hiccups" at idle. I'm gonna have to play around and see if it's my pipe causing this. I might just be nit-picking though because my car holds rpms and 14.5-15.5afr at idle and doesn't try to stall, just feels "lumpy".
