Emission questions

Ok so I live in one of those lovely places that plugs your car up to a computer and does an emission test. I'm looking to build up my car but need it to pass emissions and am wondering is keeping the stock ecu the only I'll pass or is there a way to do a stand alone EMS that can piggy back the stock ecu keeping it able to pass. I searched for threads on this but didnt see to much on what I'm looking for

Thanks guys.

What do they look for when they plug into the ECU? Here in Ohio they plug in on OBDII cars to see if there are any CELs that aren't showing up on the dash...

Maybe you should call Mellon?

I think his personal car is something like 630-700whp?

We would not tell you the ECU has a whp limit.

We just tuned two stock motors last week to 563whp and 602whp on stock ECU.

The stock ECU is limitless.

How many miles do you drive your car per year? I know in PA you can be exempt from emissions if you put on less than like 2,000 miles per year.

Here in TX all they look for is no fault codes. Apparently they check emissions on older cars, but that doesn't apply to me, even though I'm sure I'd fail.
