i got my evo 2 weeks ago, and it runs good, make a few noises i never heard before, but there ok. now its making a belt squeak( between idle to around 2.3k rpm) but goes away. i call the dealership i bought it from an they say that the accesory belt is a wear and tear item, along with breaks and clutch, and is not covered. he told me its nothin big, and it was probably a puddle or car wash that is causing the squeak. that **** got me mad so i let it go, and he said i should put on some belt dressing and it should be good. i hate **** like this.

 

It is what it is brother. I say save the stealership for when you encounter bigger problems. Belt squeaks are a b*tch but only happens rarely after a rain shower or like they said, a puddle. Also are you running an undertray? that may eliminate a lot of issues if you do encounter a puddle.

 

i think it was a carwash, but i always go through puddles anyway. i also have no idea what an undertray is. how log will it last, and will belt dressing fix it?

 

Belt is supposed to be replaced at 30K miles.
