long time no post here, but noob question:
I remember reading about a product a while back that is a spring loaded valve exhaust component. I believe it gets installed after the dp but before the cat and flows normally through the exhaust for normal driving. But upon getting on it the exhaust flow will push the valve open creating an open exhaust. Id be interested in finding and buying this for my evo IX but cant remember the name of it.
If anyone wants to be nice they can also link me to it :P
i got too many tickets for illegal/loud exhaust with the tbe i had on my '03.

This section for X's, but check with QTP, and it's called an exhaust cut out.

 

Yeah, just look under LS2, that's what you want.

 

sounds like a butterfly valve but what I think you are talking about is a cut out

similar concepts...cuts outs open manually and butterfly valves open at a preset pressure level

 

i would just do an electronic cutout
