So 485 on E85 and 400 on pump with four leaking valves is not impressive??? This is not supposed to be an FPRed type turbo, it makes great power and spools just like stock, which is what I wanted

Ok in the moment nothing wrong except 12% AWD drivetrain losses.
But how much power put USDM Evo 9's with 3" turboback exhaust without cat and still with stock software ?

I will get MY money's worth with the ARMS, for sure. Even though I need to buy the thing first, perhaps this fall. This will be for a VIII, if I had IX I would go red, but I will set up boost the same way I do stock turbo, with no boost control at all, allowing turbine psi to open WG controlling backpressure.

Not really 12% drivetrain loss. The car is underrated from the factory.

Very doubtful. More likely that american dyno companies fall into the bigger is better mentality and actually report numbers that are very close to crank hp as whp.

This is exactly why they use shootout mode overseas with dynodynamics, to eliminate most of the number fudging so the consumer can get an accurate read on gains regardless of what shop does the tuning / dyno pulls.

Rule of thumb I have always used is 10 hp per lb/min so a 42b turbo would be good for 420 crank hp. Take that to a dynodynamics and you can safely figure 7.5 whp per lb/min. On pump gas anyway.

Thats exactly my opinion And Dynojets are most optimistic dynos in USA, here in Europe there are Dynojets too, but like me and my Dynocom all we use different dyno calibrations to get realistic wheel hp

Can you explain more about shootout mode on DynoDynamics ? It calculate drivetrain losses and give crank power right ? Really i cant understand how work that dyno mode exactly ?

Absolutely right, 42lb turbo can get 420 crank hp on normal fuel and thats it. Sometimes it can get 10-15hp more ot less but thats because turbo maps are not always 100% correct

Wow, I ahve been wondering if anyone had gotten one of these. It looks amazing and that much power with stock spool speed is awe inspiring. Now, how does the price compare to a "common" turbo like an FP Red? I thought the Tomei's were hard to get ourside of Japan?

So fellahs correct me if I'm wrong. The Tomei M7960 turbo comes with an installation kit for the VIII as well as the upgraded actuator? If this is true, then the price of roughly $1,700 is great.
