I have accumulated two small problems in the past month or so with the car. First, i have been familiar with death whine and have heard videos of other peoples evos with it and im pretty sure this is not the case. When i decelerate in 1st gear i have a whining noise but only during deceleration. There is no noise whatsoever in any other gear and ever since the installation of my exedy twin it has been louder than before. The car does not whine at all on the highway etc. and has only been launched about 5 times with 330whp. Second problem, i have a squeak coming from somewhere up front. At first i thought it was part of the suspension component but today i am believing otherwise. When i get into boost, say in 5th gear, and let off i get like 2 or 3 little squeaks that come from the front of the car. It sounds like it has something to do with my waste gate because it only happens when i let off the throttle and the waste gate closes. I don't know if people have ever had this problem before. It sounds like a squeaky waste gate if that's even possible. This problem also does not happen all the time, in fact very rarely. Thanks for your help, Daryl. (sorry for the long post) I also have an fpred on order so if is the waste gate it should be fixed shortly.

 

About your 1st gear whine. It's normal. All evos whine in first gear.

The second one sounds more like BOV flutter - though you really should put as much effort as possible in describing the sound your car makes - or better - make a video of it.

Evo is a noise machine, it randomly develops new sounds, whines, squeeks, grinds... It's not always a problem.

I can hear the Bov still so i dont think its that, its a recirced evo9 bov, as for the noise, a squeaky springy sound is the best i can do for now, il try and get a video soon. Thanks, Daryl.
