first thing you need is to get yourself a boost gauge and a wideband...

It would be good to datalog with a wide band, and then check the tune in the areas you see elevated knock. If the A/F ratio is ok, then pull a little bit of timing to see if the knock goes away. Also, do you have a higher octane fuel available?

Boost gauge, wideband. Do yourself a favor, both instruments are way to cheap to not have them... Because it's simply so much valuable info in 2 gauges worth of $. They both act as brilliant failsafes too - when something strange is going on, you can notice it right away.

Well without a boost gauge you don't know where your boost is at, you might be overboosting and causing you to go lean and getting knock. Without the wideband you won't be able to tell if this is happening since you can't monitor your AFR's.

throw in some race gas, see if you get the knock.

if you still do it maybe phantom knock. just hook up your laptop and log it. or at the load and rpm just pull timing.

if you really want to see what the problem is you need a laptop and just log the car, an AFR gauge would help cause if your running lean its a dead giveaway of a knock problem and like someone else said if your overboosting it can cause knock but you wouldnt know without a boost gauge

#1 boost gauge (the car is turbo this is a MUST)
#2 Wideband Air/Fuel Ratio Gauge
#3 Laptop with Evoscan or MitsuLogger and a Tactrix Cable

and what do you mean you have a knock lite installed, do you mean you have a patched ROM and your CEL flashs when you get knock? or that you have some other aftermarket knock lite
