tial waste gate??????

so i just built a turbo set up and i have a tial external waste gate. at idle the waste gate is dumping exhaust. is this normal?? while cruising down the road its still dumping and barely makes boost. if i accelerate hard and let off the throttle the waste gate closes and is quiet. i dont know if this is what its supposed to do... any help would be great. thanks

Something is wrong with your WG. It's not supposed to dump exhaust until it reaches the set spring pressure boost. Mine opens at 14psi. Hope this helps you.

Sounds almost like you havent got a spring in your WG. That or your spring is really soft.

Yes it does. Just take it apart and check. It might not be completely seated, and causing a leak.

There could be something wedging your wastegate open.. It wouldn't be the first time I've heard of this happening.
