ACT 6 puck sprung guys ???'s for ya

Just installed the ACT 6 puck sprung kit and the ACT 10 LBS flywheel..

When taking off from a stop light or any stop and go the car like shutters/chatter. The car drives great in all gears, It's only when taking off....

Is this just because it is a race disk?

Is this what they mean by harsh engagement/chatter?

How far did you have to adjust the pedal out?

You will learn how do drive without chatter, it take a few days. I had the prolite flywheel and the 6 puck sprung. I loved the heck out of it. The only chatter I coulnt get around was in reverse. Try revving the engine higher when taking off. It will take some getting used to....but if you have to launch the car its pure sweetness.

the engagement can be harsh if you let the clutch out too quickly, or with the rpms too low. it will take a few tries but you should be able to take off smoothly.

i have my engagement almost all the way out at the end of the pedal. i recomend the solid shift cable bushings and a solid front motor mount. it helps prevent the 4th gear lockout that most of us have had.

the shutter you are speaking of is where you are trying to slip the 6 puck. they don't like to slip. if you get your rpms up a little and let it out a little faster the shutter should go stop happening. there is a balance between letting it out too fast and creating "harsh engagement" and too slow and it shuttering. i recently (about 3 months ago) installed a 6 puck with light flywheel in my DD and it took several weeks to get used to the engagement.

yea, it's the material of the 6 puck -- does not like slipping whatsoever. I have the 6 puck unsprung and mine will wail really loudly when slipped.

I have an ACT sprung 6 puck just put in with the 13lbs flywheel. Is it bad for the break-in of the clutch to rev a little to much or shutter? I'm just worried about breaking in the clutch properly

youll get used to it over time. Just bring the revs up a little more when letting the pedal out.
