the EXHAUST thread
I looked up the article on tprmag.com and read into it a little better, it does look like your's did the best even compared to the Magnaflow it definitly looks more even, but like you said that's your out-dated exhaust, good thing I have awhile before I'll be getting it, there's a lot more research to do, gotta look at high-flow cats and downpipes and their gains too
anywhere to find sound files of the Buschur exhaust?

GHL is a great sounding exhaust. I have recently purchased this full turbo back, removed the converter. Everyone keeps telling me it sounds so nasty! If i down it past you....you better have your window up, or else your ear drum will hurt! My friend was so pissed when i blew by him after the test run. He said it's loud. But at idle or just cruzing, i can get by the POPO!
People keep asking me what is the difference in sound on our exhaust systems. I have been driving the RS around now for about 2,000 miles with our full 3" offroad system on it and the BR lightweight muffler. That muffler, while extremely light, is also extremely loud. When I am in the car by myself I like it. When I am laying in the throttle around a corner I love it. When I went for an hour drive last week with my wife and daughter, I hated it.
Yes, the time has come that I have to admit I am old.
Today I swapped a Magnaflow muffler onto the car. HOLY FREAKING CRAP is there ever a MAJOR difference in the sound level. I am surprised beyond belief how quiet the Magnaflow is. Now at 55-60 mph all I can hear is the gear noise and road noise, I can't say that I can actually even hear the exhaust anymore at that speed.
I am going to have to say that the Magnaflow is well over 50% quieter than the BR lightweight muffler. I don't think anyone would say this is a loud exhaust, even a ***** cop looking to give a ticket

David,
I have the helix exhaust and although it makes great power but its extremely loud and I am sick and tired of that. I have been seriously looking for a quieter exhaust. Is their any power loss from the magnaflow muffler? Some times quieter means power loss and I hate to lose power but it seems that you have the right exhaust for me. I would like to know how much difference in power and weight when you compare BR exhaust with light muffler and the BR exhaust with the maganflow.

There are some dyno numbers with this exhaust on older threads if you search.
Hope that helps.

i have had some emails for a sound clip of the rsr exhaust. I can email them to anyone who wants to post it. My email is ek9jdmhb@aol.com
We just did a bunch of dyno testing up through our Stage 2. The Magnaflow muffler is about 5 pounds heavier than our lightweight muffler. The HP difference is 2 whp between our racing muffler and the Magnaflow, not enough difference to justify the noise level of the racing muffler if you ask me. That was tested on a 316 whp EVO.
Doing a full turbo back titanium exhaust for an EVO would be outrageously priced. I looked into just doing 3" and was shocked at the price of material.
I could do a 3.5" stainless steel turbo back. To be honest the 3" system isn't going to hurt you any until you are in the high 500 whp range.

Thanks and it does help.
David Buschur - You don't have any more exhaust that exit at an angle from the rear? (one with a Ti tip would be nice)
Just got this installed yesterday @ AMS, and totally love the Deep sound of the "Vibrant" exhaust. Beautiful weld joint as well as the stainless steel hangers. Not too loud at normal crusing speeds. Doesn't drone on the highway. But as soon as you lay hard on the throttle sounds like a beast. Power up top is crazy and finally pulls up to 20 psi. Before it just hits 17-18 psi. Now just have to wait to get it tuned..
