This has been answered at least twice in this thread. By myself and Mr Buschur. There are NO neckdowns.

Yes, the flange is full 3". We use NO reducers or resonators in our exhausts.

Hey dave, Im buying an 06 GG IX MR very soon...and If i buy a muffler would it be possible to make an 3 inch exhaust for evo 9 or is it a lil different than the 8? I found a muffler from australia and its a 3 inlet all the way with carbon fiber body, with a slant cut titanium flamed tip...The company that makes it is HyperTech Racingcraft performance mufflers.....Any idea how much it would be to make the pipes and send it out?

I'd need to know the dimensions of the muffler you are trying to use. I'd rather use ours.

David -

Do you have 3.5" SCCA cat-back (flanged) and is it the same design and layout with a buschur muffler and what the price on it may be? I didnt see the 3.5 listed on the site....

People opt for Ti for the weight reduction and 85mm piping, but with the buschur 3.5" SCCA system, its comparable weight and price may be quite compelling to buy it instead!

Thanks!

I don't know if the muffler you found will work or not, I don't like to build our sytems using other mufflers.

The SCCA catback is only 16.3 pounds with our BR muffler on it. That is 20 pounds less than stock.

The 3.5' exhaust is quite a bit heavier than the 3". If you aren't making over 600 whp you don't need our 3.5" exhaust. I can build a 3.5" SCCA flanged catback but it would neck down to 3" to go to the stock cat.

Now, can someone order these from the one that makes the most power to least? And then order these from most quiet to least quiet (put the buschur with the magnaflow)? Now, I am giving all of these companies the benefit of the doubt and assuming their quality control is good enough where I don't have to ask to order these from the best to worst quality.
Here is one article that should help some. Older information, but still good.

What about adding Ralliart, Works, and Magnaflow Ti to the list??

invidia, turboXS, buschur, RMR, Perrin, DC Sports when purchased as full TBE systems will not taper in the middle. There are others, but I am naming the ones I am sure....

Most JDM downpipes are 2.75 inches and/or taper at both ends - if you are doing a combo system, I would use a DP from the above for it!

Hope this helps!

Other systems that do not neck down include Works, VRS, Vishnu, and maybe Helix. I believe all JDM catbacks neck down at the cat (HKS, RSR, Greddy, JIC, etc). Also Borla and Thermal neck down as well.

well they taper down for a reason, for instance my greddy ti catback tapers down at the cat flange, the whole piping is 3.15 inches and it tapers to 3 inches at the cat, most downpipes and test pipes out there are 3 inch in diameter so greddy ti tapers down to 3 in to fit the test pipe/cat
