ACT HDSS and might've just missed the deals they had cause prices on them might've went up a bit. overall ACT has been doing amazing job with these clutches for our evos, i'd suggest it and can easily handle the power you're standing at. i track mine w/ 316whp nothing too extreme, launches, clutch kicks and a daily driver with 12,000 miles and it still grabs just as hard the day i installed it w/ the stock flywheel resurfaced. I would suggest going with something from Competition Clutch or ACT. Competition Clutch has quite a selection of clutches to suite many power ranges. I've installed 4-5 of them in the past for customers and they have all worked very well.

ACT HD pressure plate and 6 puck disk will work well for your power level as well.

I'm also looking for a clutch. I thought I was decided on an ACT HDSS kit w/ flywheel but looking at ebay's prices has me drooling. I could order today instead of waiting till I save another 3-400.

Did you see this one? 11 pound flywheel included.

You guys need to be careful with ebay clutches...

http://www.supramania.com/forums/showthread.php?t=43713

Some of the ebay clutches have been known to be ok. But why cheap out on a clutch? That defiantly not something you want to replace again if something goes wrong. waste of time and money. as with all aspects of modifying cars. do it right the first time. go with what has been proven to work.

I have not had any problems with the flywheels though.

Thanks for the input. Your link in the supra forums was nearly 2 years old though. Not that the same scam couldn't be going on but they're not even called XTD anymore. The auction is from Irvin, Cali which doesn't mean a hell of a lot but at least it's not shipping out of Singapore or something like that.

Is there anyone here who actually runs one of these XTR stage 3's or has installed one recently?

I run a lightly mod'd evo with a 3"TB, a drop in filter, and a tune from English Racing. I'm maybe pushing 300hp so I don't need the heaviest clutch around. It sure would be cool to order one tomorrow instead of in a month or so.

I've decided that I need a flywheel included. I live in the bonnies and there's nobody around that can resurface the flywheel if I need it. I have to borrow lift time so I can't have it waiting in the air for a week or two all apart if I find out I need a flywheel.

These ebay kits are so tempting. I want someone to tell me they tried one of these kits and it sucked or they burnt it up in 10,000 miles so something can stop me from pushing the order button.

I've only had my evo for 3 months and it's been sitting in the garage for 1 already with a slipping clutch.

EDIT: Yeah, I started reading into that thread a little deeper. I'm probably going to wait for the ACT kit. Some people up to last fall seem to think that they're receiving stock pressure plates painted red with those XTD kits.
