35R go big, HTA for faster spooling 35R. Hta = Red 35R

Just from experience on cars coming out our shop we have seen a minimal gain in both mid-range tq and peak hp when going to an hta35r vs standard 35r on mildly modified stock block evos. The graphs def don't look like a red graph down low.

My RED made 631 so I know it makes plenty of power. Dont buy a 35R and just trun up the boost. Your limited with both turbo's at 500 whp due to the motor. Both turbos can make 500 without blinking and the red bolts right up. Just an FYI...
To add even more id like to throw in other variables that i personally face:

1 - The fact i live/play in CA and the po-po around here are insanely strict on modded cars (anything to pop a hood is fair game).

2 - Tech at every track here is strict like the po-po so i'm not trying to compete with builds like Brian's so a car that runs right at 10.00@135mph is what i'd like have for my fun at the track as i don't street race for facts stated above.

3 - The supporting mods that come along with making max power on a fully built motor/35r car tend to get you more into the "race car" category ie clutch, wheels, tires, cage, etc

For me i bought my car with the Shearer 35r kit and a spun balance shaft bearing so that's why i've got a built block.

However now that the RED is a viable option i think for me it would be the best all around turbo to go along with my mild motor build, stock unported head, and fuel system to maximize the use of E85 rather than race gas.

As you can tell i'm on a budget and think i can actually fund the 6 point cage and trailer if i sell the shearer 35r kit and go to a RED while still staying competitive out here for a little while.

I have 1 main goal now to make a 9 sec pass as is and then de/re-mod.

What about the CBRD BBK Full ? I thought this turbo was showing peak numbers close to the Red, but with a much broader torque curve??

To OP -- I would vote for the Red over a 35R for a street car....

I'm not sure as i haven't heard many people strapping them on and going down the 1320

Maybe similar peak #'s on pump gas or something?

I posted in a CBRD BBK drag race thread and wondered what the turbo would do at full boost pressure and race gas of some sort or e85.

I'm sure soon enough someone will give it a whirl.

we generally dont build drag cars... at all...

therefor most of our clients are not drag clients... thats why you havent seen many of those results posted... but they are doing well in road racing...

I'm not sure why people even suggest 30Rs anymore... the Red has already surpassed anything a 30R has done.

Every thing said and done, it is your call...... I think you need to decide what you are going to be using the car for .... street or track only!! street and track.....in that case FP RED with some weight savings mod and you will be in the 10s within no time!!
