cam install = no boost?

i just installed brian crower 272s in my evo 9. i also put in an o2 housing and downpipe combination. i have a manual boost controller thats set to maximum and im not seeing anymore than 7-8 lbs of boost, but i just ran the car a little harder and i got to see as much as 15psi but its very very sluggish and not responsive. Can anyone help me?? I still haven't tuned the car btw.

Follow the vacuum line from your bov to the intake manifold, that may have came off.

Crowers are the WORST cam for the Evo 9.

i ran the boost controller correctly. im pretty sure i did and i did it again to double check. i just drove the car again and stepped on it so i was able to get 15psi but it took for ever to get there. im also getting a checkengine for cam angle sensor.

It sounds like you have a boost leak in one of the lines leading to the mbc..

As far as the cel, if you cam angle sensor didnt work, the car would not start. Did you try to crank the car with it unplugged to check something?

Having a cam sensor code is not good. What is the exact code?? IX's have two cam sensors and the code will determine wich one has the issue. when you put the trigger wheel on the en of the new cam did you make sure you are not 180 degrees off.

probably installed the cam 180 degs off. 7lbs of boost is a killer leak of some sort...when taking off the valve cover you may have not connected all your vaccum linesl, possiblity.

sounds like a big boost leak. if you have a big leak somewhere the stock turbo will only boost to roughly that level and refuse to go any further. it happened to me when the IC pipe that is recirced from the BOV came loose. wouldn't go past 12, 13 psi. checked for leaks over and over or get a leak test done. will save you tons of time.
