I just finished installation of Bushur Deluxe FMIC and have a weird noise going on. It only happens when near full boost, and almost sounds like my defi peak warning beeping noise actually. It's definately coming from under the hood though. Spool response is great, and boost holds fine.... so I'm not sure if it's a leak somewhere in the piping. Anybody else experience this or have any ideas?

haha, yeh. I'm not sure how to explain it. It's between like a whistling sound and a beeping sound. Only happens when in upper boost range. I'm not really worried about it, especially since I'll be taking it somewhere for a tune soon.... I'm sure they can figure it out.

 

whistling could just be the turbo spooling.

beeping? make sure ur door is not open or the seatbelt light is not on.

a FMIC does not beep lol.....

 

Do a boost leak test....

 

boost leak or just the turbo spooling being louder with addition of pipes and intercooler. gl

 

Sounds like a boost leak - do a boost leak test before you have it tuned.

Yea u dont want it tuned with a boost leak, cuz if u ever get that leak fixed after the tune you could be hurtin in the future

 

haha, funny comments.... i knew i'd get some flaming! i'm fully familiar with how a turbo spool sounds and d know that an intercooler doesn't beep - might be a newbie to this forum, but am not a newbie in general! I've never heard a boost leak making the noise I'm hearing, but that was my first guess also, so I am going to check that out when I get a chance. I know it sounds odd.... but it really does sound like a beeping noise, similar to a defi warning setting!
