muffler delete

was thinking about a muffler delete on evo 9. I have 3" br turbo back. I know what a muffler does but does it make it much louder or even noticeably different in sound?

And is it even worth doing? Need some input. I searched and some people say not much sound difference and some say huge. thanks guys

I have a TBE with bullet muffler. I was thinking about a muffler delete, so I took my bullet muffler off so I could see what it would sound like. Holy hell, it sounds really good, but WAY WAY WAYYYY too loud for street use, even on a non-DD. The turbo sound through the exhaust is AWESOME on blipped downshifts, but it's not worth the 98347598 tickets I'd probably get.

I'd suggest pulling your muffler off first and going for a quick drive before you pull the trigger.

As far as power gains, I highly doubt it. I didn't feel any gains, but damn did it sound cool.

I'd imagine that most mufflers are of the straight through design, so you probably won't see much power gain.
