Hallman MBC Problem...

I recently installed my hallman pro rx and it will boost 12 and slowly build up to 17-18, it has the heavy spring installed in it and it's wired properly. I first tried with the knob zeroed out, made a run and noticed it boosting 12 and very slowly buidling to 17-18.

I then turned turned the boost up, but still no luck. It builds 12 initially and very slowly goes up to 17-18. Why would this be happening?

I have the one line from the wastegate to the side port on it and the turbo pressure source running to the port directly below the Hallman.

I apologize if similar problems have been discussed, I searched in the how-to forums, but found no luck.

Why is the Forge MBC listed as one of your mods? Or why did you dump the Forge UNOS for a Hallman anyway? Just curious.

I actually went to a forge to 3port BCS to hallman, just wanted to try something different to see what the results would be.

From the way you worded this, it sounds like you hooked it up backwards, either that or I have a different way of determining which port is the bottom and which is the side port. if you are holding the MBC horizontally, the plug perpendicular (on the bottom) should be hooked to the wastegate, and the plug that is on the opposite side of the knob you turn should be hooked to the pressure source, which could be the nipple on the turbo, or you could tee off of the BOV line. I've heard that teeing off the BOV line works better for some reason, so that's how I have mine hooked up. If this is the way you have it hooked up and I just read it wrong, then I'm not sure what the problem is. If you had it hooked up backwards, I would think it would go to max boost every time because the ball on the spring would be blocking the wastegate all of the time. Hope this helps

you might wanna try and install the mbc in a vertical position. having it vertical might make the spring get "caught" along the groves inside the mbc.

if you followed the instructions correctly its installed right. also if your running an aftermarket wastegate like the fp hd then your seeing wastegate pressure it took about 5 complete turns of my hallman to see 28 psi doing pulls in 3rd gear.
