Throw out bearing question

so i finally got the trans out by unbolting the pressure plate ... now my problem is releasing the pressure plate from the TOB. The wedge collar .wavy spring are all mangled and i think this is my problem (due to the screw driver and prying)... is there anything i can do to get this thing off (cut something) anything ....please help

You're going to have to find a way to get a large screwdriver or something similar in front of that collar. Have you tried messing with it from the back side of the pressure plate? Good luck.

Its definitely not easy it will not want to pop off. The screwdriver needs to be quite large too to get enough force on it when you twist it. I had to use two screw drivers to get it done one just to get it pried up just a bit.

You have a clip on hand obviously since your changing this part out? I suggest stopping and taking a good look at how the clip functions even try test fitting it on the new clutch.

Use the clutch fork to get some pressure on the TOB to help you release it.

I assume by now you have this off. If not use a screwdriver to push the wedge collar down toward the pressure plate. Holding it there pull the clutch fork toward the driver's side. The throw out bearing should slip out. When you press the wedge collar in it releases the ring that holds the throw out bearing in and it will slide out.
