I thinks it's the axle, if it was the ball joint, it should still make noise driving straight.

if it happens when you are driving in a straight line and turning..... it is probly the wheel bearing. if it happens when you are turning....... it more likely the axle CV joint. I had the same problem with my classic MINI cooper. it ended up being the wheel bearing.

I bet its the CV axle too. Check to see if the CV axle boot is torn.

The boots doesn't have to be torn for the cv axle to go bad. This is most likely the axle because it only make noise when you turn.

I have a clunking noise coming from the right side when making left/right turns as well...you guys are saying it's a bad cv axle? It doesn't do it all the time, and only does it when going really slow (<2mph, moving in/out of parking spots)

Never heard it while making turns on the road, or speeds over 2-3mph.

Thinking it could be the plastic carriage by the front wheels too, as they are all torn up and had to zip-tie them back. Running 18x9 +30mm wheels, on Tein Coilovers, with 245/35/18 tires.

Or your struts. A good friend of mine has this happening with his Evo. For a while we thought it was the axle until he swapped axles and it did not fix the issue. So he decided to swap the right front for the left front strut and that made the issue go to the other side... Problem found.

is your caliper loose? or your shocks may be shot. Does it bounce a lot when you drive over bumps?
