Boost leak? or not?

Ok, so I have a this boost gauge
http://www.glowshiftdirect.com/Blue-...ost-Gauge.aspx

and my mods are the following..
Full TBE with o2
Full injen piping and intake
AMS intercooler
Solid motor mounts
MBC set at 24 psi
Everything else is stock evo IX

Anyway, I might be having a problem, but I'm not sure. My boost gauge reads fine in boost, I have no problem hitting 24 PSI and holding it in third, BUT my vaccuum reads -12 psi out of boost and -9 at idle. The car feels fine, it pulls hard, but I can't help but see everyone else s boost gauge vac running around the -20's. Ever since I replaced my o2 housing (with a Meagan) it sounds like im shooting air out of somewhere anytime I even tap the gas, but I'm guessing that's because it's much bigger inside and has much better airflow than stock, anyway, didn't wanna rule that out! ANY IDEAS!??

Thanks in advance guys,

Vacuum can vary depending on cams. Were you comparing this to a stock cam evo?

I was actually comparing them to a stock cam SRT-4 and some other cars, that's why I was checking here to be sure nothing is wrong!

Even the tiniest boost leak can cause a performance problem. If the leak is in fact small, the turbo might just be working harder to compensate for the leak, hence why you don't notice a difference in performance.

I'd recommend picking up a boost leak tester (inexpensive) or making your own (even less expensive if you have the patience to do it). It takes 5 minutes to get the intake pipe off and the tester hooked up.

Get yourself a compressor and go to town.

I agree with falcon. A boost leak tester is going to be your best friend. You'll experience leak issues all the time. misc seals that just decide to go bad whenever they like, and a leak tester you hook up to your turbo inlet and it will pressurize everything you got like the injector seals, all ic piping, your fmic, your bov, all important seals and gaskets.

If you want to make your own just follow vfaq's guide found here http://www.vfaq.com/mods/ICtester.html or buy one from machv. http://www.machv.com/macvleaktes.html

Also, if you do have leaks you cant pin point take soap and water in
a spray bottle and spray where you hear the leaks.. you can figure out
where this is going

Im lazy, so I just use a machv tester and love it, but you can easily build your own. Have fun!

I get my cars so leak free that I can use a bike pump and they hold over 15psi. Thats when you
know you got no leaks. Its best you use a real compressor tho.
