The easiest trick is to use two screwdrivers. One from the bottom access hole and one from the front where the fork goes through. Get them both in position and twist both at the same time and it's guaranteed to pop right off. The only hard part will be shining a light in there so you can see what you're doing.

I had to do the same thing. Tr tranny came out and then I had to cut the damn TOB off once the tranny was out. This is by far the easies way to do it once the TOB will not pop off!

I'm still wondering how you guys got to the bolts. I'm having a hard time reaching the first and I don't even know if it's possible to reach the ones on the other side of the hole. What did you guys do to reach those bolts?

Also, I tried the screwdriver and vice grip again and this time, it bent my screwdriver. Great...

You can get to the bolts through the arm hole, with an extension and a swivel. Just rotate the flywheel and the PP will rotate. It doesn't take that long. The hard part is later once you have the tranny off. If the TB took much heat it will be almost welded on there and you will need to cut it off. Good Luck.

Thanks for the info. At first, I thought the pressure plate was bolted to the block itself. Still learning the curves of a car. Also, any tips on rotating the flywheel and avoid damaging the teeth?

Thanks a lot guys. Tranny is dropped but might have to get it serviced by a shop for that TOB.
