Flutter sound with HKS SSQV BOV. HELP!!!!

I installed HKS SSQV BOV and i noticed to have a flutter sound. At the beginning a thought it was normal with that BOV, but somebody told me that it is not. It flutters only at mid rpm and only when I accelerate slowly. It does that when I release the gas pedal. When the gas pedal is down and the car accelerate there is no flutter sound. When I accelerate fast then BOV gives normal sound and there is also no leak or nothing then. HOW CAN I FIX IT !!! Is the BOV bad or it is just something with BOV adjustments???? HELP, PLEASE !!!

I think thats just the nature of having a bov... are u vented atmospherically or internally? There are a lot of people that complain about low boost flutter. I would guess its normal, but I don't have much experience with bov's...

i believe that is surge, my friend. when i had mine installed, i had this same problems. mine was vta. i ended up going with a synapse (re-circ) & love it!! you should get another bov or install the re-circ kit & see if it improves your issues.

As mentioned above low boost flutter is normal...I've had both greddy and forge BOV's and experienced the same. As long as the BOV gives off the normal sound at WOT and at higher boost levels you are fine. I am unfamiliar with the HKS SSQV, but on most BOV's its only a matter of changing out for a stiffer spring or tightening the pre-existing spring. Doing so will usually eliminate flutter, but will often make the car hit harder when shifting.

Low boost/part throttle flutter is normal as far as I know. It's just that you can hear it a lot better with the HKS because it vents to atmosphere instead of recirculating. Even my stock EVO9 DV flutters.

i have my hks bov re-circ and it still flutters at low rpm. but definitly re-circ your ssqv makes a world of difference and runs allot better...

That's why the HKS bov sucks.

also, for cars equipped with a mass airflow sensors, the dv recirculates the air back to the intake causing it to get reread by the maf. having a vta bov doesn't let this occur, as the bov vents-to-atmosphere, which in turn affects the driveability of the car (stalling issues, etc)
