Yea the water pumps do crap out sometimes, I've seen a few people recently posting that they're leaking water in the lower portion of the timing cover, etc. Even on new or freshly rebuilt motors. I drove my stock motor to 65k, no leaks whatsoever. It's just highly reccomended.

The non ac belt is 57.5", got mine from Napa for cheap. They should be able to find the part number with the length.

Well, lets say you just did the timing belts and now it is a week later and the water pump goes. You get to do the timing belt job again. Maybe you don't mind and you are at your garage. But what if you are 500 miles down the road - out there in one of those "no service for the next 125 miles" places?

So, you spend your money or take your chances. It is up to you.

My water pump took a dump at 38k miles. So I would say replace the water pump at 60k is best

Thats horrible. You wont know if the waterpump wheel or bearings are starting to go bad just by checking for leaks. It sounds like they can make more money if your pump does go bad and they can do the job all over again.
