I ran a Fidanza flywheel and ACT 6 puck clutch for years and never had any problems. I finally wore them out last fall. I definitely got my moneys worth!

Personally, I don't think it's the clutch's fault. As someone here said, it might be the TOB. I've heard that the OEM TOBs were better then other manufactures (like Exedy, ACT...) that makes it. If I'm wrong on this, someone feel free to correct me.

My current setup is:
Exedy OE replacement kit that came with a pressure plate and TOB
SS clutch line, fully bled
pedal adjusted right at catch point
re-greased the TOB and fork

yes your right! the oem TOB is better, but i still used the act one lol

His is really hard to get in gear until his EVo is warmed up. That and his clutch pedal fills softer then mine. And I've had mine longer.

I've actually had the lockout happen to me with my old ACT XTSS clutch (in 4th too), but it only happened after the clutch disc wore down. I brought it to an Evo specific shop to have the clutch adjusted and it solved my problems until the clutch gave out.

I would say readjust your clutch and bring the pedal out a bit more...?

No problems here too when I had my act xtss. Had it for almost 10,000 miles of mixed driving and over 30 drag passes. Haven't been locked out not even once even when flatshifting at 8000rpm...
For the past 5000 miles or so the car was pushin ~450awhp...

Quite happy with the clutch and the only reason that I changed it is that no single disc can hold my current power levels...

I have the ACT HDSS and have absolutely no issues....That said, I am running much less power than you...Have you considered that you may be beyond the tq specs of the clutch -- I just read your post on your great power curve! If your peak torque is ~380 ft-lbs at the wheels (on a conservative MD) that may be ~450 ft-lbs at the crank which is ~10% off the max tq rating of the clutch.

My guess is you are making more power than you suspect and have surpassed the clutch's specifications -- good and bad news...

Yeah, except you never drive your car.

Again, there are hundreds if not thousands of evos that use the ACT clutch w/o problems....It's either an installation problem, driver problem, or power has exceeded clutch specifications....Not really too hard to understand...

Whomever says act works great doesn't know how to shift fast enough. I have had the same clutch on both of my Evo's and to no surprise I get lock out in every gear. ACT is crap, end of story.
