ACT, you suck
HAHA I agree 100% this has been know since 04-05 maybe even by some since 03 here in the states.
I have used ACT in my previous Honda models without issue. The HDSS does not work in my EVO past 7500-7800 PERIOD and because of that I'm not willing to give ACT another chance in the EVO plain and simple
Its been in the car for like 70k now and it's great for driving around and holds the power my 35r varient car is making just fine but high rpm shifts are simply are FTL you live and learn. Thank goodness it's almost time for it to become target practice

Not sure hasn't been on a dyno and likely never will. DLL shows a brush over 450 and 370tq on pump gas. No biggie really as we all know TQ is what wreaks havoc
No slippage ever but the issue is that my car needs that rpm obviously

Let me get in with being in agreement 100% on this topic. At one point in time we probably sold more ACT clutches than anyone else. The company has changed, the product sucks and we stopped selling them about 2 years ago.
Add me to the list. At upper 500s, I experienced lock out. Backed down to low 500 and its better.
Street disc with xtreme PP and streetlite Flywheel.
Wish ACT would do something to help their customers.

#2 you need to recognize that the flywheel is a contributor to your issues. Every single Fidanza flywheel equipped car I have ever had come through the shop shifted like absolute crap. I have turned down custom tuning on some of them and told them it doesn't matter what power you make if your car shifts like dog****.
I understand. No hard feelings. I really do have a ton of respect for you guys, and I'm sorry that we came to blows in this thread. It's just too easy to get defensive online.
Thank you for your wisdom on the ACT XTSS. Everyone agrees that at least on SOME level, it is to blame. And for that reason, I think the community benefits from this thread. It's a rant, yes, but it's constructive in that we've reached this important conclusion.

Now that I am thinking more about it I have lost 3 transmissions with the ACT clutch set in it and all 3 times I have tore the 3rd syncro up and if any of you have had an evo trans apart you know that it is designed to shift no matter what so I am thinking that the clutch was dragging and I powershifted right through the problems and never even knew they were there
I am just thinking out loud here.
This thread has caused me to think hard on this subject.

BossEvo on here can join the club as well. He's experiencing lockout issues and synchro issues (can't get in second gear). The clutch is total garbage, and this is nothing new.
