question about my cams

so iv been running biran cower 280's on my Ix mr for a couple months now and it seems liek they just dont get the job done. my tuner was telling me that they are basically garbage and i should bump up to kelford 272, but there are quite the preety penny for a mod that i already had, i was planning on going with a bigger turbo for my birthday coming up but im not sure what to do now. Can anyone suggest a better cam that will make more power but not as so expensive, or who even thinks i need to get rid of them if im going to go wiht meth injection or bigger turbo kit.

any help is appreciated thanks!

Someone correct me if I"m wrong, but don't you have to upgrade the valve springs and retainers to use the kelford 272 cams???

I'm pretty sure you should upgrade springs and retainers for any cams.

People seem to ditch the stock valvetrain when I run jun 272's on stock everything and usally hit 8k plus rpm every day so They would most likely be fine.

from what i been told and read and heard from other tuner brian crowler cams Consistanly underpreform. Why do you think they are so cheap. so i say replace that garbage with some kelfords and quite being cheap if you want results you need to pick up quality parts. Not cutting corners for power thats how you end up with issues. btw sup wevo and xspsi4

kelfords arent that expensive. thet are $500 new. Not a bad bang for the buck IMO.
Id personally go GSC though because they are more local if you have problems and need to deal with them.

Although Kelford recommends doing springs and retainers, many people say you do not need them if you stay under 8000 RPM. Kelfords are a great set of cams and will blow your BCs out of the water. Check out the cam test. GSC, is another great set of cams, and well known on this forum. Although the S1 aren't are aggressive as the Kelford 272, you also do not get the rough idle of the Kelfords. Both will be great choices, and both are better than the BC. Gl.
