AMS and buscher dont seem to do a kit.

I noticed GSC have a 2.2L 1.7Rod ratio kit.

Does anyone have any experence with this kit? Can anyone reccommend a kit?

Why don't you sell your engine and buy the AMS 2.3RR Motor? Its a complete long block, gives you the best of both worlds, stroker motor with high revving ability.

If you were to sell your engine with the cash you save you might be able to do it

Just get a k1 92mm crank, then pick up some manley turbo tuff +6mm or +12mm length rods. Then build a custom piston. That would be your best bet. You would have somewhere in the range from $1700-2000

With a 92mm stroke and a 156mm rod(stock length) you would have a 1.69 r/s
With a 92mm stroke and a 162mm rod(+6mm) you would have a 1.76 r/s
With a 92mm stroke and a 168mm rod(+12mm) you would have a 1.82 r/s.

Custom pistons are around 550 or so wiseco hd1400's. Manley turbo tuff rods are under 650. And k1 cranks are around 800 or so?

Also if your ordering custom pistons might as well bump the compression to a 10:1 and find an e85 station.

K1 cranks are between $1400-$1600. Depends on who you get it from. Those are the billet ones. As far as I know, those are the only ones they make.

I would take the GSC setup over the Magnus because it uses longer rods which makes for a better revving motor.

Several people have GSC's kit with great success. There is an official review that EvoM did for their car on the EvoM home page as well. Granted if you did your own research you could build your own kit much like others have done. But if you want to spend your time on something else and pay someone else who's done the math and proven it works, then i'd go for the kit. Plus he's got great stuff like a Billit crank and such. AMS's RR kit is technically 2.27L so it's half way between a 2.2 and 2.3 with a long ratio as well so that's an option that many have proven works as well. There are some other shops who've have built 2.2's using the same method the others have just by measuring things up. But as history has proven, x with x part combo only sometimes works right out of the box on the first go, it's best to let others spend the $$$ and then decide what's best for you.

Thanks for the info guys!

Does anyone else make a 2.2L kit that I should have a look at? Ill make sure to have a look at the magnus kit to. I have looked at the Tomei, Cosworth & JUN kits and boy are they expensive...

The reason I wont sell my motor and buy a AMS longblock is it is sooooo much money (I live in australia - shipping would be the death of me..), and If I retain my stock block, I wont have to go through the nightmare of changing engine numbers..

I would build my own kit, but as others have already said, very rarly does part X work with part Y straight out of the box... It would be cheaper to use someone elses kit that is proven.

Cheers Ya'll!

The Magnus is available with long rods as well, its just not listed on the main page as anything other than the 156mm 4G64 option. There was a thread on Evo-tech that highlighted all the current combos a few months ago.
