we do a OBDII scan and data log on each car during its baseline test - we also use the bosch wideband o2 sensor and a knock meter

Most of these are almost brand new cars in perfect operating condition

The variance is NOT due to machanical issues

AFTER we finsh our Dyno Flash tunes - most of the evos are within 10 hp of each other

NO OTHER MODS.. Now my car ran a (an unrepeatable by the way) 12.93 BONE STOCK.. Now at about 6500rpm, I get what feels like a stutter box kicking in.. the engine won't rev much higher, and make a nice backfire.. Although I'm in the process of troubleshooting what it might be, I just put in a half tank of 100 octane unleaded CAM2 GT racing fuel, on top of a 1/4 tank of Sunoco 94.. Over 6000 rpm, It still does it.. This is EVEN with boost tapering, which leads me to believe I'm hitting some sort of RPM limit or fuel cut.. (or my DV isn't holding correctly)

Now either my car has something REALLY bad wrong with it (Timing belt, cam angle sensor, Coils, wires or plugs) OR Its running just fine, just not getting enough fuel.. Any thoughts there?
I suggest you try resetting the ecu (unplug the battery for 5 mins0 with the 100 octane and try it again

How much boost are you running

I seriously doubt you are hitting fuel cut - ith only those mods - but if you scan your codes you would see that code

HOWEVER, I had the exhaust done during the summer, so I never ran the car in cooler temps with it installed.

Since this is really offtopic now, I'm not going to add anymore to this thread, but I'll certainly want to hear anyone's input in PM's..

It really only goes to show you that there's a bit of difference in these cars, and you can't just plug in tuning settings.. In my case, my car probably may need POSITIVE compensation numbers where some are using negative (in using an s-afc) I do want to tune the car with 19.5psi or 20psi through redline, so if its just fuel cut, I'll live with it until I do my other mods.
Dont add any positive SAFC settings - it will make fuel cut worse

And dont out any negative settings in - you would need a wideband o2 meter to do its safely - you may be already leaned out on top

You should get in on our beta tester special - $450 for the flash and all your dyno time - we can sort out all your problems

The car was bone stock. No mods were done yet
I am doing intake, exhaust, MBC and cams. Then going back to see what she gains.

I was definitely considering that.. in fact I've removed the S-afc and boost controller altogether some time ago.. so the issues aren't related to the s-afc or boost controller.. with the Stock boost control solenoid the car boosts at about 21psi and tapers down to 17-18 when the solenoid opens. The only current mods are the Buschur air filter kit, and the buschur turbo back exhaust with the 3" Catalytic converter.

I already tried the ECU reset, but I suspect that I had some bad gas.. Today when I ran with the 100 octane it seemed to not have any problems, but I didn't drive it hard.

The car is going in for service for a few days for a tranny problem, so I didn't want to schedule a dyno session with ya until I got the car back and sorted out.

With all these big variations in power from stock horsepower, how are they being broken in? Who's driving them hard immmediately? driving hard but keeping the revs below 4k? 5k? Who's babying it?

I was very easy on it for the first 300 or so miles, then I drove aggressively without revving beyond 5000 for the rest of the breakin.. After breakin I would run hard and occasionally shift at 6500.. at about 1500 or so miles I started driving it like I stole it.. (I also changed the oil every 3000 miles or so except for breakin, I changed the oil almost immediately afterwards)
