The seam where the case is bolted together? Chances are the trans has been apart before, whoever put it back together may have not used enough sealer. It's not a a huge deal. That doesn't mean who ever worked on it doesn't know what they were doing. Check the bolts to may sure they're tigher and maybe try to spread some gasket sealer long the seam. It's worth a shot.

The only real fix would be to pull the cases apart and re-apply the seal. It's possible you could stop the leak by doing exactly what you're already doing, but it's not a guarantee.

unless its pouring out... i would just let it leak.. top it off once and awhile.

i know that sucks, but i wouldnt pull the tranny out just to fix the seal.

be my luck to pull it out, fix it... and then 6 months later something go out in the tranny and id be pulling it again.
Dooh.

Agreed ^

Strange. Usually leaks occur in that area under the car when someone forgets to reinstall the small Tcase o-ring. Have you had the clutch changed recently? One would think that if someone is smart enough to take the trans apart, that they would at least know how to properly clean and prep a surface for RTV.
