Code: P0240 Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold

As title says. my car threw a check engine for the past week
the code was: P0240 Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold (bank1)

the cars got 17,800 miles on it and its 100% bone stock nd yeah.. its been running fine.
i cleared the code today, but idk what exactly threw the code.

i understand it could be the o2 sensor or a bad cat. i don't think its the cat.

what should i do? cars still under warrenty should i just let the dealership deal with it?

Have you tuner reflash it with the "force pass" ecu patch code should be gone after that

since your car is bone stock with a warranty, i wouldnt follow this guys advice. I got the same code as you when i put in my high flow cat, but since you are stock i would keep an eye on it, and if you throw the code again, take it to the dealership, youll probably get a new catalytic converter.

Yeah if it's under warrenty have the dealer check it out if you don't want the hassle just have someone flash on the OBD force pass.

goddddamnit. the code came back today. im gunna stick a fouler in the o2 sensor and see what that does. if not im gunna just take it to the dealer. i was trying to avoid that though

Best thing to do is take it to a dealer and see what they say. Since you do have warranty they will check it for free but if it is the 02 sensor they prob wont cover it but hey that way you will know exactly what it is.

why wont they cover it if its an o2 sensor? full powertrain warrenty o2 sensor isn't under warrenty?
