I do not want an ams/ full blown/ br double. All i want is a setup from the hanger to rail. Single pump that will not fall off at ~30psi of boost. I'd like to do an 044 intank But that is alot of plastic to cut up.

I run an inline 044 fed by in tank walbro. From my own experience, I think this setup is fine for a 35R on gasoline, not much more. Stock fuel lines, rc1000cc, 3.5 bar base fuel pressure.

You don't need to buy a fuel rail. Drill out the inlet on your stock fuel rail (carefully) on a drill press and save yourself $150. FP's test car which put down 600whp+ on the FP Black™ did this with no ill effects. I'm running the same on my 12 second EVO daily driver. I was lucky enough to convince Scott from FP to drill out my fuel rail, your mileage may vary.

You can pick up a fuel feed line that transitions from the factory hard line to -6 for a -044 in the engine bay from AMS. I think it runs approximately $75. FP's Black turbo test car is running the -044, Injector Dynamics 1000cc (T1racedevelopment.com), Weldon FPR @ higher base pressure, factory fuel rail, factory fuel lines, etc. and is putting down 600+ on unleaded 104.

Sure it's sexy to have a billet fuel rail, and all sorts of parts you don't need. I really like the way 9sec9/IndyEVO have done things which is only replacing parts if they actually need to be replaced. Unfortunately that doesn't meet the goals of the vendors who sponsor this board, so "conventional" wisdom on here will tell you to buy a whole lot of parts you don't need. To me, it's a whole lot sexier to put down 600whp on a stock fuel rail than a $150+ billet unit any day...

You and FP's test car really didn't need to do anything to your stock rail to make the power you're making. I'm on stock rail....granted I only made 615whp on Buschur's dyno, but I gaurantee its quite a bit more than 600whp on whatever dyno FP ran their car on.

Again, OP, what's wrong with a single Walbro?? You seem to be making more trouble for yourself when acceptable solutions are already available.

I would mod my rail but i already have an fic one with 780cc installed. I will look into ams' underhood 044 line. That setup seems more plausable than the intank I wanted. I was hellbent on the intank because I already bought the sock filter for an 044. Stock lines it is.

Nothing is wrong with a regular old 255 honestly. I know the failure rate is
not that high. But even with a re-wire they cant keep up with the 044.

I've made 540(38psi) on an unmodded walbro and seen Tom Hughes Evo put down 585(36psi) on a walbro (Dynojet)

Stock everything except 1000cc injectors and a walbro 255.

If you want the bosch 044 still I would do the AMS surge tank setup.

Have big plans for your car Brian? If I can get rid of my Subaru I will be right there with you.

It depends on the fuel, and injector as well. If you were logging fuel pressure in the rail you might see it. I'd much rather enlarge the opening for a little extra breathing room than fork out for a fuel rail.

SloRice,
If you were to log fuel pressure when a Red comes on power from a 5k roll on... the fuel pressure goes from ~43psi to 81psi in a very short amount of time... not to mention the volume of fuel that it needs to supply. (94%IDC's on 1000cc injectors) Accel enrichment makes up for some of the pumps inadequacy's (sp?), but the single walbro 255 is not capable of maintaining that fuel pressure at that flow rate. (550-600whp)

If you have a large turbo that rolls into boost quite slowly because of the PMOI of the wheel sizes... you're not going to have this problem.

I'd also like to state that logging at 10 samples per second is not nearly fast enough. Fuel pressure should be logged at or near the natural frequency of the pressure transducer. ~ 1kHz

Wouldn't 1hz be 1 sample per second?

Yes 1 Hz would be 1 sample per second.

I missed a minor detail cheif... 1kHz

I'm always missing those mundane details!
