Keep calm, dont make demands, be reasonable and willing to listen to what he has to offer. Avoid placing blame, making threats, or making absolute statements. Be willing to give him the benefit of the doubt.

Failing that, get ready to turn it into your insurance and let them handle it for you.

sorry to burst bubble, but insurance wont do ish... unless there is some kinda evidence that the car was hit or hit something... they'll chalk it up to manufacturing defect

Bradley,

I bought an Exedy Twin HD last week, and this thing made me REALLY very worried!!!!

How can I prevent such thing from happening??

Also, you said that it would have hurt him.. How exactly would it reach him?!?!?!?! and what would you do to protect yourself from such thing in case it happens again lets say??

Very important! plz!

I havent seen many explode. In fact I think this is the second I have ever seen. I wouldnt worry about it too be honest, and not with an Exedy for sure. The other one that broke WAS a loose flywheel and a triple besides.

******* bro. Glad your ok. I have never been a fan of spec clutch. I had a 1st gen 3000gt vr4 and I got a stage 2 spec clutch for it and after about 800 miles on it it shat on me. It happened under normal driving conditions, I went to put the car into first at a light and it went grrrrkijbrkeabvskbvnlvs. Could not get car into gear at all. Come to find out after I took it to my mechanic (very close friend of mine and well known for good work) that the outer part of the clutch broke off the center part of if (sorry not a good description). After a long argument with spec about it and a lack of cooperation I ended up purchasing an exedy stage 2. My mechanic said the exedy looked a lot stronger and well built. Again I'm glad nothing came your way man, I wouldn't wanna see those pics in the news.

Wrong. Its claimed under compensation due to the nature of the event of a failure.

Its just like if the motor exploded and the car caught fire.

I would probably agree with Johnbradley and say the car is totaled.

Your replacing the transmission as a whole or maybe just the housing.
New clutch and flywheels
Front end overhaul including new bumper and hood latch
New radiator
New shortblock possibly longblock (can't tell if head is damaged)
New crossmember
Lots of small engine related parts
new hood

That will easily put the cost of repair over ten grand.

And fwiw a scattershield would have only saved a quarter of the damage which isn't the expensive part of it.

Good luck with proceeding but I would probably consider your car a total loss at this point and your insurance will increase if you decide to claim this. Im sorry to hear about the event.
