Its just like if the motor exploded and the car caught fire.

I would probably agree with Johnbradley and say the car is totaled.

Your replacing the transmission as a whole or maybe just the housing.
New clutch and flywheels
Front end overhaul including new bumper and hood latch
New radiator
New shortblock possibly longblock (can't tell if head is damaged)
New crossmember
Lots of small engine related parts
new hood

That will easily put the cost of repair over ten grand.

And fwiw a scattershield would have only saved a quarter of the damage which isn't the expensive part of it.

Good luck with proceeding but I would probably consider your car a total loss at this point and your insurance will increase if you decide to claim this. Im sorry to hear about the event.
I am not sure if you mean core support when you said hood latch, but its the whole front end sheetmetal that needs replaced

Just the body work can be close to 5-6k at this level with parts and labor.

Then you have a minimum of a factory shortblock (possibly long block) 2500-5600

Labor on engine/tranny- 1500-2500

Then all the things you mentioned

etc.

it adds up really really fast.

That's pretty crazy. Just glad to hear that you and your passengers are alright from this. Looks like it could have been way worse if it went the other way.

Did you find any pieces of the pressure plate ? I see flywheel and clutch. The heat marks on the flywheel look really strange for a fresh clutch install. This looks like to pressure plate broke apart and took everything with it.

BTW Exedy Twin disk use a chrome-moly flywheel which is much stronger . One of the reasons it cost.

I just said front end overhaul instead of core support but I couldn't tell what else needs to be replaced but yes the whole front end will need to be replaced. I'd say he is looking at around 20k to repair everything which at that point is totaled.

Haven't contacted anyone yet other than my mechanic which I just left him a message telling him that I would be in tom. I'll speak to him and then go from there.
