Need input..Wiseco,Ross,Manley,Pauter

Need some input on my piston/rod selection..

Car is evo 8, going to be runing a 6262 with kelford 280/272 cams. Probably going to be looking to go 8500 to 9k rpm. Staying with 2.0L.

In my old dsm I had ran Wiseco pistons and Manley I beams with no issues but looking for what has worked and been reliable with the evo.

Interested in:
standard Wiseco piston with 9.0cr
Ross 8.8cr
Manley platinum series 9.0cr

Rods:
Manley I beams
Pauter X beams

Appreciate anyones input. Definitely looking for any issues you may have had with any of the above.

Definitely not a fan of eagle. I know to many people that have had bad experiences. Wiseco has always been my first thought though.

We're pretty avid Wiseco supporters, and I would definitely recommend checking these out PM me if you're interested in a package deal!

we are just finishing the engine build. I choose to go that rout because my buddy has the same piston and rod combo in his 95 tsi 2.1 build on a GT-35r. the car feels very good off boost, not the total dog I was expecting. As for the turbo I'm running I have the BBK full, A true gem of a stock frame turbo.

Have the turbo tuffs and Ross pistons on a 2.0L. Will use the new 5857 BB and equal length header from ETS. Expecting big things. I personally like the turbo tuffs... I dont have any real experience with Ross pistons, but heard a great deal.. I plan on running into the 9K rpms as well. Either way, your choices seem good. good luck..

Manley Rods and pistons are always an awesome setup! Manley H Beams are awesome rods but if you need a little more power ability, the H Beam + are great too! Let me know if you have any specific questions, be happy to help.

Ive always heard good things about the wiseco pistons and used them in my talon but I talked to Brad Brooks, hes going to be doing the tuning and he recomended the ross pistons. Then after talking to marti at slowboy he recomended the Manley..trying to find that 1 good reason to pick one over the other two.

Seems like more and more its going to end up being the Manley I beams. No one seems to use the pauters even though they are suppose to be one of the strongest.

You will not be disappointed with the Wiseco pistons. Go for those.

I'm not a fan of Ross or Manley...they will work, but the difference is in the details.

Now that the engine is in and car is running I can give you a better answer to your question...Love it the extra .2 of compression. Something to think about..are you planning on running higher boost 32 psi and up? I ask because some piston companies offer a good piston but they are lower compression than the stock ( the first set I got ) well I dont plan on running that high of boost. No point in lowering the compression from the stock 8.8:1. evo's are dogs off boost without lowering compression anymore.
