When oil pump leak!

Well my oil pump was leaking out of oil pump gear on the timing belt side. Has any one seen this before. Because it looks like the oil pump gear was rubbing on the inside of the case and it looks like the oil pump case cover needs a gasket.. Here are some pics

I would say major contaminants. Did you removed the Balance Shafts?

Both balance shafts have been removed and there is a stub shaft on the upper oil pump gear. When I put together the new oil pump the gear's are hard to turn. But when I loosen the nut's just a little it spins good no drag. This came off and motor with 2000 miles on it.

I did the same. I hope mine won't get that bad. How long did you have it back since the last rebuild?
There are some rather large threads about this problem and most blamed it on stub shaft. But there are also thousands of engines that run them without problem.

It sounds like you are good to go. Just make sure you get the timing belt adjusted correctly - so the grenade pin is still loose after it has sat awhile.
