actually the 8 gears suck kind of too..... i just watched a video of my car and i hit 110 at 7000. seems like you would want the 3.73 ratio then electric blueix if you want 120-130

EVO8 4th should go 113 at 7K 129 at 8k and 145 at 9K. I would rev a 2.3 to 8500 through the traps no problem and seeing as how that is ~137mph I think you will be fine. Also tscompusa call me about the T-case! If you are upgrading to either LSD we should yank the stock diff out.

My only other concern would then be how strong is the LSD? I don't want to upgrade to something with more chance of failure rate then open diff.
I would think the LSD would be tougher than the open, but I can't say for sure. By preload, I mean he uses the parking brake and almost lets the clutch completely out while sitting in the throttle and then nails the throttle right before he lets the parking brake go. I can't ever get this method to work without bogging, but it just takes practice. He has had 650whp only for the last few months, so only time will tell how well his stock t case will hold up. He already rebuilt his tranny himself though.

As far as max speed in the gears, I get around 40mph in 1st, 70mph in 2nd, 100mph in 3rd, and 140 in 4th all at 8500rpm with stock evo 8 gears.

I have a 9 with the evo 8 3/4 gears and even with 245/45/17's I have to run the car outside it's powerband to make it through the traps in fourth.
